Update: I also wish the navigation would take into account boat type. As a kayaker, the navigation does not take the most direct route I assume to account for a larger boat overall this all works pretty well! Managing routes is a little finicky. I would also love to have visibility information in the weather section. Edited

Hi Juri - thanks for trying the app and for the feedback. WE do take vessel type into account now. If you choose kayak and then drop your start and finish pins in shallows, it will route you in shallower water. When you choose motor or sail we do the opposite and route you into deeper water. I'll pass the viz request on to the dev team.

Savvy Navi falls short in key areas. Location gps barley works. It lacks detailed information on onshore locations, rivers, and public docks, making navigation in Florida frustrating. Finding public docks is especially challenging, and the maps need more details about private docks, parks, and waterways. It also doesn’t support a horizontal view, which limits usability on larger screens. For $100 Edited

Hey Franky, thanks so much for the feedback and trying out the app. I'd love to jump on a call and talk you through the features as some of the things you mentioned are in the app now. And I'd love to work through your ideas and then we can look at what more we can add.

I love the interface and easy to see navigation screen. It is pricey, but once you factor in the amount of data (weather, currents, tides, wind etc) built in, it is a pretty fair price....almost a bargain. Two complaints which prevent 5 stars at the moment. 1 - The GPS position seems slow to update. I often found myself over-correcting my heading because of this. 2 - trip plotting is not very intuitive. I generally have to set my destination multiple times before it accepts.

I want to like this app more than I do, however, it's little things that prevent me from doing so. First off is GPS tracking. Most of the time, it doesn't know where I am. Permissions are enabled, and I've dug through app settings, but this is primarily a planning app on my phone. I look at a sister app it works with to find anchorages, sail with an iPhone themed app that actually tracks where I am (with a horrible UI), and check weather with two other iterations of apps. It's so close!

Stopped tracking position. The app shows my speed and direction but the location on screen does not update. The new psuedo 3D mode adds zero value. The UI is not intuitive and the app sets waypoints along the shoreline. I need to save locations, not routes. Many long-term local lakefront businesses are not in the database. On the plus side, when earlier versions worked, it could route me around the Lake of the Ozarks without manually setting waypoints. Edited

Hey Jeffrey - if you long hold on the chart anywhere, you can drop and save a pin on that location. You can then rename it and easily navigate back to it. You can also import saved points from older and less intuitive apps.... ;-)
That all works in the free version of the app.
