Shows you the current wait time, but once you've "checked in" it doesn't give you a count down or any notifications (though it says it will do both). And it turns out sometimes your check in doesn't work, as I just showed up an hour after checking in (it said 1hr 20min wait to be told I wasn't on their list and they were full for the day. Edited

I tried booking ahead of time for a particular hairdresser. The app said 23 minutes, I arrived close to 23 minutes on the dot and the shop system showed 29 minutes from the time I arrived. This isn't very helpful at all. I was getting a photoshoot done and was hoping to use my favourite hairdresser at that location. Figured checking in ahead of time would have helped... but then I was told I'd have to wait another half an hour. The app is also incredibly buggy.

The app is a little buggy. It's hard to figure out if you've successfully checked in. It's impossible to see what your current wait time is.

In theory, the app allows you to save a spot in line. In reality, if you're not there when your spot becomes available (often way earlier than the app predicts), it will be given to someone else, which happens to me almost every time. Then I end up waiting there for 30-60 minutes to get in. This app is supposed to be an improvement over the traditional appointment system but it's a total failure. Edited

I like Tommy Gun's a lot for the convenience. This abysmal app puts a very annoying kink in an otherwise nice experience. It allows you to "book" and choose your barber and location, but does not notify you when you ask for it. When you leave the booking screen your upcoming placement is lost forever into the black hole that is their database, so you better remember the approximate time estimate it initially gave you. It used to actually work. Total fail, Tommy Gun's. Get it together please!
