bought their subscription a year ago (apparently, don't remember that), did not sign up or consent to and was not notified about the subscription auto-renewing. didn't get a chance to cancel and apparently it's "non-refundable" even if I try to cancel literally hours after being charged. Yeah now I'm never going to recommend this service again, also enjoy the chargeback

If like me you want to get answers for where you're family, & conditions come from, and learn more about the places that apply, I recommend this service... However, many parts of the service are blocked from the base subscription, they have a tendency to lump geographically similar groups together, ( i.e. England, Ireland,Scotland, & Wales are just listed as English and Irish on the overview), & security has been a problem in the past, but if those aren't problems with you I strongly recommend.

The WORST app ever. Paid for full year subscription, sent in DNA sample in kit, waited several months then received NUMEROUS emails for me to pay for NEXT year. The app would not give me the DNA info I had already paid for! I could not access the data until I gave them more money! Contacted support and was given the complete run around. Finally gave up and deleted the app without ever receiving the results I had paid for ($90+) months earlier! Complete crooks!

Great app with intuitive menus, and an overall easy to understand process. They will continuously update health information as the technology they use to analyze genetics gets better, without charging you extra (some say there's a subscription, but I don't see it). Great investment and I could not suggest an improvemt if I tried. Granted, it'd be nice if the price was lower so that more people have access to this information, however I feel the price is more than justified for what you receive. Edited

The 23 and me app has a lot of options for exploring your personal data and reports on health and relatedness. It's fun, and easy to use, and the views are pretty well optimized for mobile. It's not just a simpler version of the desktop site. My only complaints are, it's a bit slow. And the family tree quickly gets useless, a few generations back, because it can't handle cases of consanguineous marriages, double first cousins, or other kinds of multiple relationships.
