Sound Meter is an excellent sound meter. It matches the NIOSH app for the iPhone exactly, which says a lot. It met all my requirements, including an excellent graph showing the average SPL exposure in DBs, and the displayed values are very easy to read. Kudos to the developers for such a high-quality app! My only ask is that you add color segments on the arc of the readout meter, indicating danger level (e.g.: red for >= 115q db). Edited

"Save audio files when measuring? You can reset it in Settings." i hit "Cancel", it still saves... "You can reset it in Settings.", i go to settings, there's nowhere to "reset it"...

after update, same issue - does not stay on during playback unless you keep touching the screen - requires speaker, earphone or headset to hear the playback - it keeps saying not responding after saving - does not automatically save when battery dies - to wait or close app is pointless just leave it for a few minutes to save or you will lose the recording - one phone is 10 decibel less than another, who knows which is correct Edited

I had to purchase this app on April 14, 2025. I could never get it to work and I could get no response from the creator of this app. I want a refund. I took the app off and now I have put it back on so I can get this message to whoever this it's all in Chinese writing so I don't know but he never responded.
