Fun magic system. Particularly loved the Alchemist path. Writing is good, setting is good but characters are relatively flat and generic. There is nothing special about any of them really except for the villain. The game is also rather short and linear with very few diverging paths except for certain major choices. Worth the $2.99 price tag for sure but not sure it would be at full price. Still, it is fun and I'll get the next one when it comes out.

Really really good. Bittersweet throughout, characters are vibrant and fleshed out well, the scenarios are exciting and varied, the magic system is very unique and inventive. Not hard to keep your stats up, and you can play a lot of different variations of a character. Editing my review after playing the Book 2 Demo to say Book 2 is the worst garbage I have ever read and destroys everything that was good about this story, can't believe it's the same author! AVOID BOOK 2! Treat as a standalone! Edited

Wow just wow, its such an incredible piece of literature and there is quite a bit of replayability within it considering the questions asked for the book 2 demo had things I never came across in my playthrough. I like the perspectives game it has going for it and i do hope eventually the entirety of book 2 is released as it truly deserves to be reborn as the title suggests. Cant find any recent information on it unfortunately, but i hope its not scrapped.

I found it refreshing to read a journey being taken this way. Not many of them have the literal end (usually it is roughly the middle of the story where something bad happens and continues from there) being told and there are multiple snippets of flashbacks that tell the story of MC and the other characters. I liked it a lot and enjoyed the characters we got to interact with. I'm excited and will happily wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book! The different magics and the spells they give access to was really fun to learn and try out. It definitely aids in replayability! And I liked the pros and cons of each and that there are some story consequences to it. I felt the romance was a bit too late game (for the path I chose), but I loved the chatacters regardless and that meant the emotional finale really made this story for me. The tears I had took me completely by surprise. I hope there will be a book two!
