I rode bike 14 miles. It recorded 1 mile. Another time it was recording then it decided I should mark a waypoint and quit recording. I didn't see the request until several miles later. It also quits if screen turns off. Worked great first time when I held it in my hand for 5 miles and looked at it every 5 minutes. Can't do that on a bike

Make sure you turn off battery optimization for the app on your phone and allow it permission to always use GPS so that it can record your tracklog when the screen is off. Also, if you want to record more than 40 tracklog points (about 1/2 mile) and more than 3 waypoints, please upgrade to the paid version.

I would like to establish a GPS for my phone. Yours looks good but I have to have GPS coordinates read out as N and W and as example Nxx xx.xxx Wxxx xx.xxx and wonder how to show coords that way. Thanks for working on an option for viewing with 3 places to the right of the decimal point. Edited

Lat/Lon degrees minutes format currently has 4 digits of precision not 3. I might be able to add an option to control the precision. Metric/imperial units can be selected on preferences page. The paid version of the app is a little bit over USD $5.

Its amazing but if there is option showing the direction of desired coordinates with an arrow, then it will b perfect.

Press the "up arrow" button on the bottom row of the main page and choose the waypoint you want to be directed to.

Excellent and compact app which lets you do pretty much all the functions of a standalone GPS on your phone. Edited
