I'm just going to let you from my personal experience , if you are starting out as a small business don't do it ,I had so much trouble using the app and the card reader (fees are high). the card reader reader gave me so much trouble , sometimes it wouldnt take the card payment so I would manually enter the customers card info but because I did that they'd charge more. the app would freak out on me, it would freeze on me, wouldn't let the card reader connect so I would request zelle out of panic. Great when it works, like all of the other reviews suggest. After 6 years as Director of IT & Marketing, I assumed it was just user error (like most things are) but nope. Don't have time to wait on a support line to tell me to disconnect/reconnect 1,000x (already tried) so back to the Square we go.

High hidden Fees! We were told by an account manager it be a flat monthly rate when that's false. Once the account was opened, extra fees began popping up at random each month. Can add on any fees they want and try to take it from your bank account. Read the contract before signing it! Do not recommend them if you want to succeed!

Great when it works, a disaster when the cars reader needs to update...wants to update when you need it to perform, then the card reader gets hung up, and isn't readily recognized by my phone. Linking via my Android and Bluetooth is a waste of time, connects, disconnects, then doesn't connect again unless I instruct my phone to forget the reader....just like in Edge of Tomorrow... Connect... disconnect....repeat...(Live, Die, Repeat.) Except you don't benefit from the knowledge of the prior.

Here it is 10-26-23, since the 10-16-23 update the reader does not work with the app again. Then I find out that they are charging me $25 a month because I have to manually plug in the card to take payments, glad that part works. Says it needs an app to work (which I have), the card icon on the app don't even work. This is happening on my Samsung phone and I have been having on /off issues for 3 years now.
