Been using for years but recently this year 2024 it's been clicking off and on instead of just staying on like I normally like it. I updated the app, and it only made things worse, causing my phone to bug out. Apps were not working, my music would randomly turn off. I went to the app store and bought the paid version by the same name for $3. It seems to be working now, it feels a bit lighter than the free version. But better than nothing. Edited

Very nice, it's free and does its job. We aren't forced to pay money just to use it as a filter, it offers nice additional features while keeping the app function perfectly fine using it freely. I'm pleasebtly suprrised that I can change so much without getting hit with paywalls. Many apps fail at this, so I'm happy its still a free app and can be used like so. It makes me more keen to give then my money. Not to mention, it's just the cost of a cup of coffee. Edited

This is a really useful app, because I tend to work late into the night, and I would like to for the years to come, but my only gripe is that it causes a really bad input lag that is especially noticeable when I type. Every time I try to type on here, it thinks I'm double tapping and zooms in on my screen. It is getting very annoying. [Don't use old 3G phones] ^ original review from an older phone, on a much more modern phone, it works flalwless even using the same setup.

This may be caused by using a third-party keyboard that does not handle accessibility events very well. The keyboard strokes should not activate double tap zoom, maybe try downloading another keyboard, or disable double-tap zoom if you don't need it, here is how:

Night Shift is very easy to use and comfortable on the eyes. I like the variety of options (light, medium, dark, etc.) as I can easily adjust the light level for my maximum comfort. *Edit: I reinstalled it on a new phone in 2019 and it now does not dim the phone's pull-down menu. This is unfortunate as the menu is very bright. I hope another update in future will once again dim everything. Edited

The app works wonderfully. HOWEVER. When you go to the settings to set it to display over your pulldown menus, when you press "allow", the app says it needs access to read all your data. Yeah. So I uninstalled this app immediately. There are plenty of other blue light filter apps out there that don't need to invade your privacy in order to work as-needed. Don't get this one.
