June 2025 update: the app is basically broken on Proton VPN and keeps hitting my location services. Can only imagine how much data they're trying to harvest for sale. I don't know if the notification problem is still a thing because I've trained myself to never click them. Love the idea, and it's great when it works. However, alerts are inconsistently on time, and it has gotten into the habit of just ignoring anything I do by responding to a notification. Feels like it defeats the purpose. Edited

I am changing my review because the bugs I complained about last time have been fixed. That did not save it though. Save yourself and do not download this app! The ads are incredibly obnoxious and they even made their new ones look like bereals to get you to accidentally click it. There's the factor that the new owners of this app are horrible, but there is also the mental health factor. Through this app, you will realize that all of your closest friends love to hang out without you, etc. Edited

I love the concept of the app, but it's so buggy no matter what. I've always had some sort of issues, whether it's late notifications, or taking my picture and it not posting so I have to take it again. Now, nothing will even load. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and when it asked for my phone number, it's just stuck on the loading screen. Physically can't use it at all now which sucks because I have such a good streak that's going to be ruined.

A lot of times when I post, it doesn't capture my photo. Be Real is good in theory, but sucks when the program doesn't work. Update: got a new phone, stupid solving puzzle to confusing and "failed" it too many times, guess that's just my sign to be done with Be Real for good. Good riddance. Edited

I love the concept of the app and I enjoyed it for a very long time. I like being able to keep of with friends in other states. But lately, it's been more annoying than enjoyable. It's very buggy. There are days at a time where I don't receive the notification, and now my memories aren't showing up and everything I try to post a bereal, it deletes it and says I need to post a late one. I've restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and noting is working.
