Recently this app will not open to the stories for which I get notifications. It goes to the main menu. I don't want to then have to search for the story. This was a dumb update. Also, app will not close anymore with back button. Must force close. Not putting me into the requested story and then making me force close has started the habit of looking at other news sources first. These are not great updates, CNN. Get it together. Edited

4* for news. But 1* because it does not exit when you use the back button. The cnn app opens when you click on CNN news in a browser ( don't want it to ). And the app doesn't exit when you hit back. News. I like the live audio only option on the front page. Handy during car drives. BUT it does not work on my pixel 4a 5g via bluetooth. All the other usual audio and music apps work ok. Edited

This used to be a great app but not anymore. Now everything is hidden behind a pay wall. And I mean everything. Not a single article for free. CNN is not worth paying for in my opinion, especially when they still serve ads with a subscription. Apparently advertisements as well as tracking and selling my data wasn't enough money for them. Now they want to do that plus charge money. 2 stars since the app itself is good if you want to pay.

I have been using this app for years and loved the ability to read CNN's fantastic coverage of all topics. As a cable subscriber, I do not feel the need to pay an additional fee to read the news in the app. This new subscription model is unfortunate because the CNN app was often my "go to" for news coverage, but now I cannot see articles with in-depth coverage on important world news without paying an additional fee. I hate to say it, but I have deleted the app today. I was with you. Not now.

I am very disappointed in cnn. you took a great app that was free, so I could read the news, and now you want me to pay for a subscription. I'm uninstalling the app, and removing you from my tv viewing as well. I'll go elsewhere for my news. I always thought you were the best and fairest news,and certainly the most comprehensive. but not if I can't read it. goodbye and good luck ...from a former loyal customer. Edited
