I love Android & I love my Google Pixel but I wish they would stop forcing things that are optional & then not let you uninstall it. If this works it can be a lifesaver for those who need it. I completely understand it from that point of view ... BUT ... it should still be optional. Now I have another app that I don't use, I don't want & lost more space on my phone!! Just make it optional. Its fine if its pre installed when the phone is new but it would be great if we could uninstall it. Edited

@adamkennedy, that is exactly what I need. where to, my only problem is that when I try to set my permissions allowed , su h as allow, na, ow, etc. there is a veil blockage, kinda opaque in color, that doesn't allow me to even touch. so the hack there is remote monitoring, and I can't seem to find how to access the original default app(s), even after a factory reset. I can not even change my keyboard. it really suxxs and fact that I know nothing of what I'm doing.

Notice that you remove this "operating system app" from the library of apps on the device app list. That's not nefarious at all...... Some of us would like to regain the control over our hardware as in the days of 2010. By hiding these apps and removing control from uses purchased hardware, you place us at greater risk of damage and loss of function. Users should be able to control what apps have access to networks and other hardware, at anytime.

It's a neat way to control your phone, but not really accurate, triggers when you don't want it to, doesn't sometimes when you do want it to (not meaning enabling itself but clicking on things), & doesn't have enough triggers. It doesn't work in low-light either. For Google: How about head movements as a trigger? I'd use it if it had more triggers & was reliable.

used to work without a lot of drama, now it gets in a weird background state burning battery and forgets it is enabled...seems to think you need to pair a switch when all I need is for the volume button to execute a shortcut.
