Google Books is really helpful, especially when I need to look for references or preview books before buying. I like how easy it is to search for titles and authors, and sometimes I even discover new books I didn’t expect. It’s also convenient for students who need access to textbooks or want to read on the go. Very useful and reliable app. 📚🥰🤍

I cannot download the ebooks I have purchased for some reason. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it didn't work. It keeps saying "The book cannot be downloaded right now. Try again later." It's been like this all day. This is the first time I am having such an issue with google books. I can still download the samples of unpurchased ebooks though. This is very strange. Help. (april, 2025) issue seems fixed, not too sure how though, still a little slow, rating changed to 4 stars Edited

The library, sorting, purchasing, and reading options are great. There is a big caveat, though. I am a highlighter, and the functionality is clunky. By far the worst of any reading app, and I use 6 on regular rotation. Dictionaries, downloads, etc. shouldn't need to be cleared to highlight. Holding my finger down and dragging across the text should be all that's necessary. I quite literally stopped reading my book to write this because of my frustration.

Good user interface, with night mode, variety of fonts and text sizes, intuitive reader app. I knocked off 1 star due to annoying and unwelcome book recommendations with very few configurable options. For example, every time I open the app, it pitches all kinds of queer and multiple gender nonsense that is downright insulting. When I mark every one of them as 'not interested', they disappear from the list, but the next day they are back in my face, every single one of this garbage literature.

Google Play Books to me, is a great digital book, library edition for any reader on any device. Its interface is easy to understand. However, it can be challenging for some who may suffer from certain brain conditions. The outside looks have a brand emblem that's crisp in colors. Now, I have to be candid, but I have bought some of my fav authors' books, samples, etc. But honestly, I don't like to read and I'm a writer, published. Yikes, I said that out loud! 🙊 Great Book Library, Google. 💯
