This app is glitchy. It is only barely capable of controlling the motors and electronics that you can get. Just recently, I tried to reverse the direction that a slider would control a motor by multiplying the widget block by -1, which normally works, but then it just jerked back and forth whenever I told it to move, in fact, it almost broke my build. if you are going to get this app, please note that it will not always be cooperative, and can be quite annoying.

Edit: Lego's response here show's how little they understand the problem. Let the user decide when they want the dumb "smart" hub to stop. I run trains at home and at conventions and expos. Can't do either with a phone that has to constantly stay on to be connected. Doesn't show up in my list of installed apps even when I type in Lego. But, that's not the bad part. IF you can get it to connect with the train, good luck using the app. Soon as you turn off the screen, switch to a different app, have a screen saver kick in, it tells the train to stop. How utterly dumb. I'm not going to leave my cell phone running the entire time i have the train going. Just plain stupid. If you're going to insist on that being a function, have it one you can turn off.😡 Edited

We're sorry to hear you've experienced frustration with the app!😰 To maintain the Bluetooth connection to your smart hub, your phone must be awake to stay connected during play.🔗📱 The hub will shut off if your lock screen is active to save power. If you'd like longer play time, you can change the lock timer in your device settings!⏰🔋 —Callie

when it works it's great, but one of the engines will stop responding to manual control, so I have to reset it. I'm not a lazy person, but it's irritating when you have to get up and walk ten or so feet to retrieve a remote control car. Kind of defeats the purpose. Yes my location is on. yes my device is compatible. The car will still respond to programmed orders so the issue is in the coding of the program itself. For $100 I will be asking for a refund from LEGO if this isnt fixed soon.

I tested out this app this morning with the Disney Train and Station set. I had problems getting my train to start and my stomach just sank after all that work. After making sure there were 6 AAA batteries inside (3 on each side). And resetting the app, you should see the hub flash different colors and the Bluetooth connection screen go from 0 to 100% and it worked! I almost gave up there should be a video made on how to set it up correctly. It works, but it could be more intuitive. Edited

works for on my old tablet, but my pixel 3 doesn't function correctly. Thank you for the reply. The app does download and technically is does connect. The issue is the left/right motor controls appear to have a glitch in the programming. After using it on both the tablet and phone, they both lose control of the motors. The forward/reverse functions don't work consistently. I suspect it's a bug in the programming. I wish we could edit the motor controls instead of just the three special buttons. That way I could trouble shoot your setup. Edited
