Downloaded the app but while setting it up , it asks for permission to access to photos and media on my phone. Sorry, can't grant that permission to the app that I don't even know is good yet. Immediately uninstalled.

We fully understand your concern. The app does NOT access photo library, the permission is required to access external storage to download and extract the files.
