Wow! Great to see an app that's a one time payment with a demo version! Quality, no clutter. 很好！ Date of review: 08/25 One downside: after a while you notice repeating sounds. 2000 sounds like a lot, but at some point you've heard them all. Would be 5/5 if there were more words/different recordings per sound/word so you don't just learn to understand the few voice actors, but a greater variety of Chinese. Still, quality is more than great for the price. 谢谢！ Edited

Pros: - easy to use - user-friendly input methods (drawing and multiple choices) - clean interface Cons: - robotic (probably AI) voice. Tones do not seem natural. - seems random, no adaptative learning. The app should adapt to what you struggle with. - too many zh/ch/j/q pairs, no "-n" vs "-ng" endings so far - no stats to follow up your learning process. For a paid app, I would have expected better functionalities, a human voice and a better record of your learning

Tones are not easy to distinguish, as in real life. Makes for great learning tool.

Unlike what other reviewers have said, I like the fact that it is difficult to hear what tone the speaker is using. It is good training. It is legit because my Chinese fiancé gets the tones right every time.
