the app is full of problems and bugs. if I do get it to connect to the camera finally after 30 minutes of trying, there is no live preview of the picture, just a black screen. I had high hopes that this would be better than the old app but it's way worse and completely unusable.

Not sure how a new app can be worse than the one it is supposed to replace. Also, I just returned from a Japan trip with 1000+ pictures. The app transfer 100 picture and deleted the rest. I lost over 900+ pictures. I bought the Z1 when it was newly released, and was happy until this new app. I don't know what is wrong with Ricoh, but the recent lost of pictures means I cannot use the Z1 on my next trip. The Z1 was $1000. Never will I buy a Ricoh product again!!! Edited

The old Theta app worked. I barely got this new app to work once. Now I can't get it to open (it just freezes indefinitely on a blank page). I cleared cache, uninstalled, and reinstalled. Now I can open, but when I try to log in it spins indefinitely. So basically, I can't even use my camera. What a joke of a company. "Let's make a camera that can't be used without our janky app." I have a YL00 with a Motorola Edge+. More than enough power in this phone.

Thanks for effing up a perfectly functional app. Now my SC2 won't connect to my phone app because it's looking for the cloud or looking for my registered device. You need an account to use the app now. I smell a subscription model in your near future. I have a secondary app that connects to the SC2 and now that won't connect anymore. FIX IT!! Edited

Really bad app! does not let you change all the functionalities of the Theta SC2, for video there is just 2 options, 4k or 2k, with 30FSP, and no other option, this camera has much more than just that. and now there is no way to change the time of the video, I am stuck in a 3 min!. horrible app.
