Overall this is a fairly good program. For what it costs. If I were wishing for additional functionality, well ... I have a list: 1st, make that "included" database with hundreds of (mostly) handwritten tunes with minimal information OPTIONAL. 2nd, failing that, make it easy to REMOVE that extensive database except one at a time, which takes essentially forever. 3rd, write an extensive help file, even if only on-line. 4th, maybe even publish the source code so that someone else could help.

I'll think about making the default charts optional, but it is quite easy to delete these completely. There are two preloaded lists (Fakebook and Popbook), select them in the list editor and then select "Delete playlist and songs". For a help file, there is now a draft on fakebookpro.com!

The user interface is awkward. I have fakebooks in PDF form, each PDF containing hundreds of scanned pages for each book. The app reads these in ok, but provides no scroll bar or index to access the content. I can bookmark individual pages, but I'd have to create each bookmark by hand. That said, using fakebooks on the author's website works well using the PDFB indexes supplied there. Check to see if the Fakebooks you need are there. Edited

Sorry to hear that you are not happy with the Fakebook Pro app. However, I'm a bit surprised by your comments, as there are ways to automatically index PDF books (or at least simplify the process by doing it offline). Furthermore, "bookmarking" pages for this sounds strange. Please send a mail to

Dear developers everywhere: I don't know why it is so hard to make an app to do something so simple I've gone through probably every single PDF app on play store. All we need is the ability to bookmark specific pages across a variety of PDFs and place those bookmarks in a single location that is accessible so that when I click bet bookmark it takes me to the PDF with that specific page number we also need the ability to name those bookmarks and organize them in to separate lists. I applaud this app. Many real book type apps face an uphill challenge with many (illegal) PDF versions of songbooks and users demanding easy interface. This app works great and even reads external PDFs so celebrate that. If you're serious about the music, buy the printed books! You might even learn something. For me, I've pulled this app out in a pinch onstage during a gig where I just wasn't sure about a few chords and it saved my bacon/cheese/profiterole. So thanks....

For what is a database with thousands of entries, it needs serious work. You need to work on stuff like being able to select multiple tunes to add to a playlist (instead of one by one?), sort tunes by latest (so you can find stuff you just added), remembering last folder you opened when importing, faster method to add all these books (it takes hours), etc etc..
