I'm actually so shocked. this isn't some stupid fake prank app, this actually does work. My sister lost a necklace and I was able to find it, in-between the couch cushions with this tool. It looks like it uses the phone's antenna, and I got higher readings putting metal near the corner of my phone. the different styles and sounds are cute, but the main purpose is so much better than going and buying a whole metal detector when you can do it with a 0$ app. 5 stars!!

This app is amazing. At first I thought it was fake but when I put metal in front of it it went off the charts, but when I put my hand in front of it nothing happens. Amazing metal detector, but sadly it would be hard to detect anything in a house since everything is slightly medal,so if the object is to far away you won't notice, but it is still an amazing app, you should download it and incase you were thinking I'm not a bot and I was not paid to say this, but now me saying that proubable makes you believe me less, ohh well. I needed a metal detector to find the pins that mark the corners of my lot so I could resolve a property line dispute with a cranky old neighbor. After downloading several metal detector apps, I found this one to be the most accurate and have the best user interface. I probably looked a little crazy sweeping my cell phone, taped to a wooden pole, back and forth in the backyard, but in less than 10 minutes, I found and exposed the 3 pins I was looking for. Check and mate! Thanks metal detector.

Best app hands down for metal.i use it personally to detect magnetic grave markers beneath the ground have had incredible success at this detecting metal over 14"in away from the phone, using Moto E6play. Downloaded tons and many hours wasted. (This one does work flawlessly), if u looking for silver and gold I'm not so sure you'll have to try that. As far as base metal, this thing is a marvelous charm. I even have a telescopic camera tripod attached to it to use as an actual metal detector. Edited

Definitely should be renamed as magnetic field detector instead of metal detector. It does do this job quite well, but the sensor area on my phone it uses has to be within about a half inch of ferrous metal to register anything at all. As near as I can tell it uses the compass sensor in the phone since the "calibration" is exactly the same as calibrating the compass for GPS or star tracker apps.
