I used to use Thunderbird on my desktop way back. On my phone I used GMail for years. Thunderbird is SO MUCH better! It's small. It's fast! It's open source. It's actually deleting when you select to delete which was a problem with the Gmail app where emails would still be there when I check the account on the computer later. I am so glad my favorite Thunderbird is now on Android! Thank you! Edited

Some recent app update appears to have broken back gesture, I can't navigate back in the app with swipe in from edge gesture anywhere in the app even in settings pages, the back button on the top left is the only way. There is no way to disable left/right swipe action that switches between emails, it almost always activates accidentally. I am uninstalling this. My hunt for a better email app continues. PS: Don't ask me to contact support, I have better things to spend that time on.

The format of the account list should be changed to show account name, not just a meaningless symbol. Need to be able to open an attachment from the top of the email or a menu. Some emails have large amounts of space, and it takes a long time to repeatedly swipe down to get to the bottom where the attachment is shown. No way to quickly scroll down. Need to be able to add custom folders and be able to move emails between folders. Will not download PDF file to a folder; instead, it opens the app. Edited

We're so sorry with any frustration with the current app. We're working on an improved account drawer with the option to show the full email address and a customizable icon, as well as improved attachments, and these features will land this year. For less white space, adjust Settings > General Settings > Display > Message Lists. Hope this helps!

First, the very good. Thunderbird for PC desktop and Chromebook is top notch. But on Android due to Google, the app requires adding that 2nd, 3rd, etc Gmail address one desires as a full Google account to one's device. Defeating the app's purpose. Work around - On the app, go to settings, import, then "scan QR code" from one's Thunderbird PC app. Then-fetching mail, incoming server. Change authentication from OAuth, to normal password. Set up a 16 letter app specific PW in Google, input as PW. Edited

I've been using this for a few months now. I like it because it lacks a spam filter and doesn't try to take control of my inbox. About a week ago, it stopped syncing on schedule (seemingly right after the Android update). Now I have to manually sync. 2 stars because support is non-existent. I'm not wasting my time creating a post in a "community" that will be ignored or get answers that are unrelated from other members. Support should come from the developer.

We're very sorry for the issues with sync, and improving this is one of our highest priorities this year. We're also sorry for any frustration with support as we grow our community who help our small team help more users than they would be able to alone.
