I absolutely love this series. I've spent years reading these. The authors work is phenomenal. There's more romance in this one than the 1st book. However, only 2 of 4 romance options have any real major progress in the relationship (I won't spoil it 🤭). I personally loved certain side characters, but alas, our love wasn't meant to be (for this series anyway). There was some lacking in the climax department, and the ending felt a little swift, but it all still rounded out well and cohesively. Edited

I have been playing these types of games for almost a decade now, since I was about 8 and got my first device. In all that time, no other CoG work has captured me quite like this one has. I absolutely loved the first one and this one proves on that more than I thought possible. The writing is descriptive and imaginative, story is gripping, the characters are incredibly interesting and fun to interact with, and the choices actually feel recognized. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Another great installment. The writing was excellent on this one and the characters were great and felt so authentic like before. The plot was a tad hurried and didn't have good buildup to the climax like Book 1, it just kind of ended and I was left saying, thats it, it really ends without more of a bang? I do also wish there was a bit more to some of the romances, but they were still great! There could have been a tad more meat on this books bones, but it was still amazing! Can't wait for #3! Edited

Another great book by Jenkins! This story is filled with wonderful character moments, and expands the world in an interesting and believable way. The development of the main group as well as the detective is very refreshing for CYOA style games. It encourages roleplaying in a way that not many of these games can, and it makes the story that much more engaging. I was a little frustrated with how slow the development with your romance option is, but the moments you do get are fantastic. Edited

Such an amazing second installment to my favorite interactive novel series! I do wish there were more action or build-up to the final fight scene; I was expecting something on the same level as the first book, but this was still an engaging read nonetheless. The romance is definitely a slow burn and something I look forward to seeing blossom in future books! I'm very excited to read Book Three, and look forward to its release!
