The glitches have been solved! I love the newer version! I used to get regular backgammons, but haven't gotten any at all for a long time now. It's much more satisfying when it's strategy isn't beating itself. It's strategy is much better. It has a descent back game, better moves and better doubles choices. There are still some predictable moves, but they're not as game changing as they were before. I've tried a few others but find this to have everything a gammon aficionado needs. Edited

While it's a wonderful game overall it has a very annoying feature. If I'm hit and there are only two positions that I can't get back to the same let's say 2 & 4 sometimes I roll the dice four five or even six times to get back in as I bring consecutively fours or twos which cannot happen probabilistically, not that often anyways. For the AI is the complete opposite. They get back in unbelievably easy even when there's only one position available.

The dice are 100% fair, using an industry standard LCR RNG. What you are experiencing is the program's good placement play, minimising risk. The old weaker levels are still supported. You can run the tests that conclusively prove fair play. See aifactory.co.uk/bg.htm. Many have said this is the strongest on Google Play, and they are right!

15 years ago the dice rolls were random. Now, every time the game is close or I am winning, even by 40 or so points, the computer gets doubles 4-5 times in a row. This has happened in the last 82 games that I have played, not just 1 or 2 doubles, and always in the end game. If you don't know backgammon strategy enough to program harder levels, leave them out and change your name to Backgammon for Beginners.

They have been random for 15 years. You are almost certainly reading too much into too little testing. Just run the conclusive tests we provide that conclusively prove no cheating. See aifactory.co.uk/bg.htm. 100s have run these tests and are completely satisfied. All Backgammon programs are accused of cheating, but its very very unlikely any do.

Regular updates, with better strategies, tougher levels, lifetime stats, new and easier move input, match review, match replay with unique start seed, good explanation on the probability, ... They really listen to player feedback: the recent 8th level is finally a better challenge. Still possible to beat the cpu in 2 out of 3 matches, but it with better doubling cube decisions and no more stupid moves when bearing off, it is nice for practicing.

update: bullcrap to the response. it defies all odds, REPEATEDLY. Most rigged app on the app store. The only way to make it fair is to actually roll your own dice which makes buying this app a moot point. I tried all different combinations and its comebacks from way behind and the doubles it rolls for itself simply can't be beaten. The level (I played level 8) is only how much more unfair it makes the game. there is no change in skill just favorable rolls. this is for the paid version. Edited

That is very sad as you can so easily and conclusively prove non-cheating by running the tests we provide. See aifactory.co.uk/bg.htm. Absurdly all Backgammon programs are accused of cheating. Realise that there are a lot of less-than-clever people playing games on Google Play. You would be advised not to publicly mark yourself as one of them
