Coming back to this 2 years later. It's even worse! There's MORE bugs, like random capitalization, weird paragraph spacing, phantom words, access issues, and the worst of them all, the bug where I'm forced into suggestion mode STILL EXISTS. It has been TWO YEARS since I last reviewed docs, and that bug was there then. And they haven't fixed it. And THIS is who we let control everything? I'm going to heavily consider finding alternatives, because it seems my hopes don't seem to be shared. Edited

The app constantly stops allowing me to edit my own documents. I've done everything that Google recommends, and the only thing that works for a while is to completely reinstall the app. I have to do this three or four times a day on occasion. Edit: saw there was an update today and checked just for the laughs. Updated and opened up a file and boom! "Comment only". It's been FOUR YEARS Google! I'm honestly expecting ads before we ever get a fix for this. I would give a 0-star if I could. Edited

Still unfixed since Oct 2024. Tip: turn on desktop site on your browser before being redirected, and you don't need this app 😊 Documents are in reading mode in default, which is the opposite of the normal, intuitive web version. You have to manually turn editing mode on each and every time you open a document which is maddening, and there's no setting to leave it on all the time, even though it's naturally the default on the web version. Docs is great, but this app makes it horrible. Edited

I use docs for all my documents... and I love that I can easily switch between devices.. but in the app, when I backspace, it literally mixes up letters in the word before.... an awful, annoying glitch. when I tap to put the cursor in a different spot and try to type, it jumbles any nearby letters... If I leave the app even for less than a few seconds, without closing it, it sometimes leaves edit mode, and goes back to the top and the arrow to quickly scroll disappears. Edited

I've been using Google Docs for over a decade and it has been pretty simple and easy to use. Although, I think there may be a bug within the app. For some apparent reason when I try to highlight a sentence, word, or just a text in general so I can cut it or copy it— it doesn't highlight it in blue for me to see what I'm trying to edit. This only happens when my document is in dark mode, but I've never had this issue until today, which is strange. Edited
