Fantastic! A trip planning necessity! GPS triggers audio at just the right time. You learn so much more than you would just visiting a park without all the research you'd have to do to get the info. It downloads to your phone so when you lose reception out in the wilds, your guided tours still work. It's stable too, not a single crash.

I've done four tours with Shaka and the guides are great. The app however has issues. While this worked before (I think), the app now fails to play narrations when there is no Internet connectivity. When starting a downloaded tour, I see a notification "Downloading tour content for offline use". I've tried resetting the app data and re-downloading my tours, but it's a hassle keeping an eye on the app to make sure it's not missing anything. Please play at least an error to avoid missing stops.

it doesn't work... we used the app for 3 NPs and it went great, but since the last version, it just barely works. if the app doesn't crash it doesn't play the audio, and if it does play the audio it's not in the right place. I did download everything in advance and got no errors. Not cool that you pay and in the real moment it doesn't work Edited

We used the app for the first time at the Big Bend National Park and had my doubts since there was no cell phone signal at all throughout the park. Not only did it give us turn-by-turn directions to every site but when I accidentally closed the app, it picked right up again at the next checkpoint. The narration gave us so much information and history, we will be using it for every National park in the future.

We used Shaka for the Road to Hana in Maui, since it's a lot of driving and stops, and no cell service. The app guide was on point at every step, letting us know of places that were off limits, times that places were open, where to park, and heads up on upcoming sharp turns or blockages. Along the way, the app played awesome Hawaiian music and talked thru some history on the places we were seeing.
