If you need to lookup any french word offline and get its pronunciation as well as etymology, definitions, synonyms, antonyms, translations in other language, etc... Don't look any further. The UI is basic but it gets the job done efficiently. As a French native, I have been using this for many years. My favorite feature about it is that similar versions exist for othe languages, giving you the ability to lookup the translation from one dictionary to the other.

This app is extremely fast, which I really appreciate. (Pro tip: to make it even faster to use, there's a setting to open the keyboard first thing when you launch the app.) The dictionary content is generally great - it's from the French Wiktionary. I have the Larousse too, but these are often more complete - plus this app is far nicer to use than Larousse's.

It's free, no adds, works great, lots of features, seems to be based on (French) Wictionaire or Wikitionary so very complete, nice features, conjugates, pronuncation including speaking the words, and customizations, just works. Seems vastly underated should be at least a 4.8 on average, maybe higher. I think it even works offline but haven't tested that. Get it, use it, see if it isn't one of the best. (Linguee is good too.)

Great app, with all the definitions you could possibly need. Never crashes. I have the English and Spanish versions also and can go back and forth between them as needed. Handy for travel and reading books and newspapers in the target language. Just wish there was a version you could use on an iphone or iPad. Highly recommend.

Works marvelously! for intermediate/advanced with in-depth definitions and literature sentences as examples for each word. *I needed to configure speech settings for my Android.* Click the 3 horizontal bars in the app's upper left hand corner > Settings > scroll to Text to speech > Enable Text to Speech and Read Aloud > in that pop up box click Text-to-speech settings at the bottom > Change 'Preferred Engine' to Speech Services by Google and 'Language' to Use System Language. Voilà! I love it.
