Useful for making quick voice notes I can come back to later, and for recording audio observations for iNaturalist when I can't *see* noisy animals. Should work fine for longer recordings too. Basic mono, several bitrate and format options including M4A, MP3 and Ogg. Your audio stays on your phone. No ads, no subscriptions, no remotely-generated transcripts, just basic recording.

Fossify Voice Recorder Beta is my go to for all my recordings needs. Hands down it's the best and I can't stress enough that it's been the most reliable recorder app out there. It's easy to use and covers all basic recording needs. I recommend this app to everyone.

would be great to record customer service representatives. This app records phone ringing and when they answer. It stops recording. Doesn't record everything. Would be great to not have to have two phones on top of each other to record a phone call. I can't get it to do voice transcribing of recordings. Not able to review what is recorded prior to saving it. Instead you have to save recording then listen to see if it's what you want. What's wrong with doing instant playback like Samsung? Edited

I was about to pay for a broken ad riddled alternative when I decided to look for open source. So glad I did! This app has way more features, good ux, and no advertisements. It's simple and perfect. If you're a musician who's constantly recording and exporting clips, this is for you!

So far, excellent. This is a light, privacy-friendly, ad-free app with a clean, intuitive, attractive UI that does what it says on the tin. High-definition (not audiophile) recordings with exceptional clarity on .m4a as default, offering beta .MP3 (up to 320 kbps) & .ogg. Perfect as dictaphone/conversation recorder, or for capturing music. Super! Edited
