in strong need of save points. Once you master a section, it's tedious to get back to where you were. My pattern is that I tend to die in new sections, trying to stay in character and failing, then have to work back there to choose the 'right' choices. The further I get, the more ground I have to cover again. Not fun, which is disappointing because the story is interesting. Also, it's a little weird for the narrator to address my character directly. Edited

This one is a lot of fun. It's a bit railroaded in terms of the narrative, but the diversity of how choices affect the immediate story makes that just fine. I think it is hilarious that there is an achievement for cheating. Unpacking and modifying these games is fairly straightforward, so it's definitely doable. My only issue with the game is that some choices to disobey lead to immediate death forcing you to start over. It's sometimes hard to know which ones will do this. Edited

I was waiting for this game and am glad it finally came out. I first played as a noble and I really liked the mc's arrogance in the beginning. It was nice seeing that and went with the story really well. I think this game could use a little more though, like for the endings and the romance. I guess what happens to us and the ro is more realistic, but it'd be nice to see a good end and the others having epilogues too like Tin star. Wish there was more ro and also, who was the person in the dream? Edited

Pretty nice story, definitely quite interesting to play and read. Alas, I am unable to give it more than 2 stars due to 2 reasons that marred my personal enjoyment of this game: 1. It seems to use a form of random number generator system for vs. status checks. As have been mentioned by another reviewer, even though you picked absolutely the same choices in multiple different play-through, sometimes you passed a status check and sometimes you failed it. Putting it simply: No matter how high your status scores are, you can fail just because you're unlucky. This is not fun for me personally. I can't even do proper trial and error like other Choice of/Hosted Games because of this. 2. The ending. I understand that the author is planning for a 2nd book in mind, but... I mean, to put hours upon hours into the game and then be given that kind of ending... Sorry, I just feel so heartbroken. That said, I understand this is the author's very first Choice game. So I hope my input can provide some insight to the author. Here's hoping to a better game in the 2nd book!

This is a pretty good game, especially compared to some of the stuff released today. But it has its flaws 1. The plot is easy to follow, the stats are clear and I did not experience any frustrated confusion whilst playing. 2. The ending is good, and altho I could sense it coming (the twist wasnt unconventional), it still felt satisfyingly unexpected. 3. I would have preferred an epilouge to counterbalance the rather rushed final scene. 4. The lengthy game is for a sensible price of 4.30.
