Favorite destinations and routes have disappeared completely and won't work. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling. There is no way to see train times for a particular stop. I used to be able to see the trains coming at my home and work stops. Now I can't even search for the red line. Useless app. Also the metro is late today, again. Edited

This app is absolute trash!! the app was working fine when I was using a digital card, but then all of a sudden last weekend, when I tried to add more value on the card, the app started giving me connection problems and I kept getting emails that they Canceled my purchase without explaining the reason why it was canceled. is even contacted their customer service, and it they didn't even address or fix the problem at all regarding their app. After this, I'm going back to using a physical card.

Sorry to hear about the trouble that you're having. Please check with your card provider to verify the credit/debit card settings. Additionally, delete and reinstall the SmaTrip app to ensure you have the most up-to-date version. Lastly, ensure you have a stable cellular or wifi connection. If you're still having issues, please call again. -KB

The app was working fine a couple of weeks ago but now it can't find any subway lines. All I see are bus lines. I need to see what subway lines there are and the times they are running. I already cleared the cache and data and still not working. This is very frustrating woth not being able to see the subway lines on the app or be able to save my favorite stops. Edited

Thanks for calling attention to this, Rick. We have an open ticket with the developers to research your concern. In the meantime, please use our MetroPulse tool at wmata.com/metropulse You can view service alerts, upcoming trains & buses, and real-time locations. We appreciate your understanding while we get to the bottom of this. -KB

Added $10 but no credit, no receipt, and my credit card was charged. Staff said this happens often & could take days for the app to show the added value. I had to buy a physicalcard. I was lucky to have another $10, but not everyone does—many rely on every dollar to get around. Still no refund. Just another issue on top of delays, broken trains, dirty new cars, and constant service problems. Sad to see such a critical system in this state when places like China and Europe are far ahead. Shame. Edited

Hmmm this doesn't sound right. If the transaction didn't process, it may show as pending and will fall off within 3-5 business days based on your banking institution. Please call us at 1.888.762.7874 (M—F, 7 am—8 pm) so that a SmarTrip specialist can look into this for you. -KB

It doesn't work properly. Sometimes it works well, sometimes I must tap multiple times or call station manager. I never know if it will work, missing trains many times about that. No matter how much inches from the reader is my phone. I see many people struggling with the same issue at gates every day. i should return to the old card. Edited

The antenna is located in different locations on different devices. Once you find where it is located on your device, whether that is at the top or the bottom, you can hold it 2-3 inches from the reader. Also, do not pull away from the reader until the gate opens; sometimes users pull away too fast. -KB
