Good, but one issue means a no for now. It's simple but does what it needs to do most of the time. Group chat is proving to be the bug that makes me have to revert to google for now. Sending something in group chat means that each individual conversation member receives it individually as well as in the group. So, it double sends the message and results in awkward explanations.

It's a functional app, but it can't seem to handle outbound messages to group chats properly. My messages don't appear in the group chat, instead appearing to be sent to each member of the chat in individual conversations. It's unfortunate but I'll be switching back to Textra until I see an update about this being fixed.

Okay, but the voice texting is awful. i downloaded this app to get an option other than google messaging on my new phone. but the one thing I use the most on my phone is the microphone button. i tested the google messaging, against this app, and this app makes tons of mistakes with my voice texting. Google messaging doesn't make any. they need to do something about that. I also can't send gifs, because it keeps saying that they are too large, but they work fine with google

I'm loving the Fossify ecosystem that's developing. It's so great following these from the FOSS repos to here. With Messages in particular, I might have finally found my lightweight replacement for Textra. More testing required, but so far so good. One pain point is that if I back out of a message that I opened from the notification, it exits the app instead of going to the main screen. Otherwise, it's pretty great!

So Far it seems to work well. 2 things that might be a deal breaker for me. No way to pin a conversation to the top for quick access. And no way to add a custom image for group chat so the icon blends in with every other chat. it would also be nice if you could customize individual chat colors. it's to easy to send a message to s group instead of an individual if your in a hurry and the icons are the same color as the individual. Just my thoughts
