Neat idea, but 80% of the mines out where I live aren't on the map. A lot of the ones that are listed are mislabeled or marked in the wrong spot. *Afterthought* This app needs to have a feature that lets users pin locations to the map to help others. There could be two designations of marker on the map, 'verified' and 'unverified.' But what do I know, I only work for the forest service & BLM closing them while leaving them bat friendly and safe to the public. Edited

This app is wonderful for locating old mines and prospects. I just found it a little bit ago and couldn't be more pleased. It shows very accurate information all things considered, has coordinates and USGS data on EVERY SINGLE MINE. I even upgraded the app and the location tool and commodity filters are very handy. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great, easy to use, highly helpful app.

Just got done re-installing this app after basically forgetting about it and man, what was I thinking because now I realize how fun and educational the subject matter is: Historic mines. Past and present. I live not too far north from Los Angeles, California in Santa Barbara and there was and to a certain degree, still is a lot of mining going on around here (Copper, silver, mercury/quicksilver and diatomaceous earth). Download this app and have some fun. Highly recommended.

There's definitely a huge amount of historical mining activity around Santa Barbara and all up the Central Coast. I'm impressed by the efforts and optimism of the prospectors in California, and I'm thankful for the folks at USGS who diligently maintained the mining records over the years. Appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoy the app.

States that App is free. However unless you purchase the full version through the app, it only shows you mines in Alabama and Georgia......I dont like in either state so this app is useless for me. I'm not about to purchase an app that I can't try for myself. Developer said to try to reinstall and check phone space.....it's not an issue of phone space it's an issue of the free version does not show any mines except two specific ones. Again not going to pay for an app that I cant try. Edited

Clunky. Aggressive, intrusive ads. Difficult user interface. But it does work and there are surprisingly few of these that actually work. There is a superior mine app that's been available... but for some reason that does not work on my current phone.
