I like the ability to manage devices locally instead of only through the cloud. A big annoyance is that it doesn't show all wireless clients that the web interface shows. This makes it difficult to find and manage seldom used devices. It's gotten worse and doesn't allow any clients. Gets slower and buggier every release Edited

Update: it seems that cloud access via the app nog longer works as before. I am able to access my controller via a browser but in the app, it looks like it wants me to add another controller for cloud and it is not pulling in my devices. Weird. Worked fine before, no changes in my setup, cloud access is clearly enabled. Old: Nice app, works well. As others have mentioned, it would be great if you could name the clients. And while we're at it, be able to change the icons as in the Tether app. Edited

Solid experience overall. The app definitely lags behind the web GUI in terms of functionality and granularity, but it's more than good enough for on-the-fly management. Anything more in-depth I'd be doing on desktop/laptop anyway. TP Link seems committed to the Omada platform, and as a result have been pretty good about releasing updates to the app. It's a better experience now than it was even just earlier this year. Looking forward to continued improvements. Edited

Still needs a little improvement. Client lists don't update fast enough. Tracking where a device is on the network is not always accuate. A lot of the widgets are useless because they don't give you detailed information, this includes RSSI problems, which it has a widget for, but it doesn't show which devices are having the problems which makes it useless.

It's good enough to just check if things are up or if you want to mess with WiFi channels but you mostly have to do everything important in the actual web interface. I'm a bit concerned now that location data can be shared with third parties. Didn't know this without Google notifying me and a constant notification to turn on location in the app. Hopefully this isn't a sign of future decisions that would put personal data in jeopardy.
