This review is for the free version on an android phone. Easy install and setup. I don't see any ads. This vpn hogs the internet connection. When I turn it on and attempt to watch YouTube videos, it takes forever to buffer the video to watch. I've changed the resolution settings down to 360p and still it buffers for ages. Torrenting any file is excruciatingly slow. Changing servers made no difference. If it's a great product, I won't know because I won't pay to know. Terrible 1st impression.

I've compared 5 of the top VPNs on a gigabit connection. Proton (paid) was consistently faster than the next best provider by as much as 3x the speed. There's so many servers in my region that it never slows down during peak hours. The builtin (Net Shield) DNS filter does an excellent job of blocking ads and trackers with a 99% block rating when I tested using a browser audit. There's a 30-day refund window so test it out yourself. Edited

Been using this VPN for a couple months now. Honestly, in my opinion, probably the best free VPN available. Doesn't put hard speed restrictions in place, though speed/connection quality can be affected if you're using a server that's nearly full. But in that case, just change to a different server. Just bought a PS5 so I'm a little short on money, but I'll definitely be looking at upgrading to the 2 Year paid plan once my next paycheck comes through.

It works, but perhaps a little too good. I can't login to any of my financial institutions, playstore, and a few others. The split tunneling doesn't work. I tried inverse and standard, and nothing I exclude can get through. Also, there is no "snooze". So if you disconnect from the VPN, you have to remember to turn it back on. Canceling my trial.

Works great but needs a pause button. Currently, there is only a connect and disconnect option. If you have the kill switch on and want to connect to something or access a site blocked by VPNs, you have to turn off the kill switch on your settings to complete what you're trying to connect, and then turn it back on afterwards. NORD has a pause switch that works great.
